Position Summary
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) works directly with the Senior Leadership Team to support overall business strategy and management. The CIO’s overall accountability is to ensure that the company’s technology systems are secure, reliable, up-to-date, and meet the needs of the Organization.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Builds and develops a high performing team by assessing behaviors and giving critical feedback on a consistent basis and ensure institutional programs are available to support employees’ career growth in individual ways.
  • Oversees all IT operations including staff, infrastructure and applications.
  • Works collaboratively across all departments to optimize business performance, by determining and addressing their IT needs and requirements.
  • Ensures that all systems are secure and that proper protections are in place to always identify and eradicate external and internal threats to ongoing operations.
  • Oversees all stages of the development, implementation, and lifecycle of IT projects and technology systems, ensuring they are in line with organizational objectives.
  • Identifies vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proposes strategic solutions and recommends new systems and software.
  • Ensures budgets, resources and schedules meet corporate requirements by developing and adhering to financial and budgetary standards. Demonstrates negotiation skills aimed at providing the best outcome for the business.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external advisors and vendors.
  • Oversees existing programs, ensuring that that necessary updates are made and hardware is properly maintained.
  • Reports progress and challenges to senior management.
  • Ensures reported helpdesk and technical support functions are properly staffed and issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Evaluate needs for Company acquisition targets and ensure prompt onboarding of all completed acquisitions. Work to ensure that the Company’s IT budget is presented in a timely manner and adhered to.
  • Translate broad corporate strategies into clear, specific IT objectives and plans for units and individuals.
  • Professionally communicate consistently and regularly with internal customers as to any functional upgrades, disruptions or other important system changes.
Education and Experience
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of experience in IT environments with progressive growth and responsibilities including at least six years of management experience.
  • Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and development including current security protocols and threats.
  • Ability to develop relationships based on trust, confidence, and respect with employees, acquisition targets, senior leaders, and Board members.
  • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite preferred. Experience integrating IT environments with acquired companies.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills including demonstrated system implementation experience.
  • Ability to scale with a rapidly growing business.
  • Significant experience in all phases of the development lifecycle.

Job Demands and Work Environment
  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and potential environmental hazards.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines, analyze operational challenges, and make high-stakes decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments
  • Travel required, including overnight stays as needed
