Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop precise construction estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to compile detailed cost proposals.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and material pricing to ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Engage in negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and terms.
- Collaborate closely with project management teams to align estimates with project schedules and budgets.
- Monitor cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting estimates as needed.
- Review contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to update estimates accordingly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software tools.
- Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and cost control strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and contractual terms.
- Hands-on construction site experience is highly desirable for accurate assessment of project requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
