The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications, prepare cost estimates, and negotiate contracts effectively. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop detailed cost estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs for heavy civil scopes including earthwork, utilities and concrete
- Build and maintain internal cost models and historical pricing databases
- Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions and gather information necessary for estimating purposes.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Collaborate with field teams to align estimates with production capabilities
- Participate in pre-bid walkthroughs and internal bid reviews
- Track estimate performance and refine forecasting based on actual outcomes
Qualifications
- 3-7 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction (sitework, DOT, utilities, or earthmoving)
- Understanding of HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, and Excel-based cost modeling
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, crew productivity and equipment rates
- Ability to interpret civil plans, specifications and geotechnical reports
- Familiarity with GDOT standards and regional pricing trends
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80, $105,000.00 per year
