Reinstatement is restricted to former Court employees who meet the criteria outlined below.


Thank you for your interest in reinstating with the Superior Court of California, County of Orange. We are excited to learn that you are interested in rejoining our team. 

In order to qualify for reinstatement, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates may only be reinstated into the same classification previously held.
  • Separated from the court in a regular status position. A regular status position means that you were not working in an extra help, retiree, limited term, or contractor capacity. Only regular status positions qualify for reinstatement.
  • Applied for reinstatement within six (6) months of your separation date from the court.
  • Meet the minimum qualifications of employment standards for the position, which include any background requirements. 

SELECTION PROCESS

STEP 1: Candidates must complete the online application.


STEP 2: Applications will be reviewed by Human Resources to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for reinstatement. It is to your benefit to include all current and previous related work experience on your application. When listing Court experience, please include dates and classification of each position held. Only those who meet the requirements for reinstatement will proceed to the next step in the process.


STEP 3: Candidates who meet the reinstatement requirements, including verification of valid employment authorization, will be placed on the reinstatement list for up to six (6) months following separation and considered for vacancies in their former classification as positions become available. All candidates will be notified via email of their status at each step of the process. Additional steps in the reinstatement process may include a background check and verification of required documents.


BACKGROUND CHECK
A thorough background check will be conducted, including but not limited to work experience, education, certifications, driving record, criminal record, litigation judgment or verdict, and financial/credit information. Fingerprints of candidates are also taken as part of our background check process.

REINSTATEMENT LIST

This recruitment will be used to establish a reinstatement list for current and future vacancies for individuals who were separated from the court due to the expiration of their employment authorization. Eligible individuals will remain on the reinstatement list for up to six (6) months following their separation date.
