About the Position
Under supervision, performs basic office support and court operations duties while learning court policies, practices and procedures applicable to assigned section responsibilities; and performs related duties as assigned.
Court Services Assistant I is the entry-level class in the Court Services series. Under direction, performs varied court operations assignments of routine to moderate difficulty requiring developing knowledge of court policies and procedures, the application of established procedures and deadlines and customer service skills.
Court Services Assistant I is distinguished from Court Services Assistant II in that incumbents in the latter class perform a wider variety of desk assignments of moderate difficulty and complexity requiring journey-level knowledge of court policies and practices, application of established procedures and deadlines and significant customer service skills.

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined is: Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Court's vehicle insurance policy.
The ability to read and/or speak Spanish or another language is frequently required.
