This recruitment will establish eligibility lists for current and future CSA I vacancies at all locations.


 About the Position 

Under supervision, performs basic office support and court operations duties while learning court policies, practices and procedures applicable to assigned section responsibilities; and performs related duties as assigned.


DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS 

Court Services Assistant I is the entry-level class in the Court Services series. Under direction, performs varied court operations assignments of routine to moderate difficulty requiring developing knowledge of court policies and procedures, the application of established procedures and deadlines and customer service skills.

 

Court Services Assistant I is distinguished from Court Services Assistant II in that incumbents in the latter class perform a wider variety of desk assignments of moderate difficulty and complexity requiring journey-level knowledge of court policies and practices, application of established procedures and deadlines and significant customer service skills.

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined is: Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Court's vehicle insurance policy.

The ability to read and/or speak Spanish or another language is frequently required.

Required to submit a cover letter and current resume with application. Failure to submit cover letter and resume may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.

Human Resources will review applications to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications; therefore, it is to your benefit to include all current and previous related work experience.

Selection Procedure:
Step I: Applications will be reviewed to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and have submitted required documents; eligible candidates will be referred to step II in the selection process.

Step II: Those candidates that are successful in the previous step will be invited to participate in the required written assessment.  Assessment is scheduled for  Monday, August 10, 2026,  Time TBD. Candidates will receive confirmation via email  before the scheduled test. 

Step III:  Candidates that pass the written assessment with a 70% or better may be invited to participate in an oral interview. 

Step IV: Those candidates who are successful in the interview may be placed on the eligibility list. Placement on the eligibility list is not a guarantee of employment.

Additional steps for the selection process will include a drug test, background and reference checks.
