Service Technician

Overview
The service technician works to diagnose and repair boats and engines brought to the dealership for service. He / she is also performing scheduled maintenance on boats and engines brought to the dealership. He / she are rigging new boats & helping service used boats owned by the dealership. He / she are conducting quality checks on work performed to ensure that repairs are made correctly the first time. Complete all jobs assigned promptly, properly and professionally, keeping cost to the customer at a minimum and profitability of the dealership in mind.

Responsibilities

· Follow all safety precautions and procedures at all times

· Wear appropriate safety/protective gear at all times

· Accept work only from service advisor / manager or owner

· Report all low inventory or shortages of materials needed ie. Shrink wrap, shop supplies, oils & etc. List these items on clipboard in shop

· Exercise precaution to ensure cleanliness of boat (removes shoes, uses towels, covers boat when done, etc.)

· Complete all assigned work

· Advise on additional work needed

· Submit work orders/parts requests to service advisor to obtain customer authorized parts

· Return each work order to service advisor immediately upon job completion

· Accurately and neatly indicate work completed and time spent using WB’s software

· Return any incomplete work orders to service advisor at end of shift

· Follow manufacturer warranty policies and procedures

· Review all recalls, service bulletins and product updates

· Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and in good repair and returned to proper storage location at end of shift

· Maintain clean personal appearance

· Maintain clean work station

· Move boats as necessary if Lot Porter is not available

· Attend training seminars as needed

Pay: $25.23 - $30.38 per hour
