Printing Plate Maker

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Printing Plate Maker to create high-quality printing plates used in offset, or other printing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of prepress procedures and proficiency in operating imaging and plate-making equipment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and quality of printed materials in mass production.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Transfer digital or physical artwork to metal plates for use in printing presses.
• Operate and maintain imaging systems and plate-processing equipment.
• Review job specifications and artwork to ensure accuracy before plate creation.
• Collaborate with graphic designers and press operators to ensure optimal print quality.
• Inspect finished plates for defects or inconsistencies and make necessary adjustments.
• Follow safety and quality control standards during all phases of production.
• Maintain detailed records of plate production and job specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with plate quality or equipment.
• Complete all other responsibilities and assignments as required to successfully achieve the goals and objectives of this position.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to details.

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of related experience preferred, but willing to train if needed.
• Strong attention to detail and a good eye for quality and consistency.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
