A day in the life
It's 7:30am and you're at your desk, coffee in hand. You open Excel, scan yesterday's sell-through, and fine-tune forecasts to keep our beer and wine portfolio flowing across Northeastern and Central Ohio. You balance PAR levels to prevent out-of-stocks while keeping carrying costs in check, submit purchase orders, and coordinate with Brand Managers and Sales so everyone knows what's on hand, what's incoming, and what's running low. By 4:00pm, you've updated internal systems, checked product code dates for freshness, and shared clear status updates—ready to do it again tomorrow.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, on-site.
What you'll do
- Collaborate closely with teammates in the Purchasing Department.
- Forecast current and future inventory needs using sales trends and seasonality.
- Maintain inventory at designated PAR levels to balance cost and availability.
- Set minimums to avoid Out Of Stocks and maximums to control inventory costs.
- Use pricing schedules to buy at the most advantageous costs.
- Align with Brand Managers on Sales Department goals, programs, and promotions.
- Build and analyze daily inventory reports to drive decisions.
- Create and submit purchase orders to suppliers; follow through to delivery.
- Accurately enter and maintain order details within internal systems.
- Share timely out-of-stock and replenishment updates with the Sales Department.
- Track product code dates to protect freshness and quality.

Education & experience

- 2 years of professional experience in buying, purchasing, ordering, and/or analysis.
