Building Inspector / Sr Building Inspector Location: San Gabriel Valley District Office, Arcadia CASchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5/40)Assignment Type: Long-Term ContractPay rate: $60.00 - $65.00Excellent long-term opportunity with potential for extended tenure supporting a large municipal program. The Inspector / Senior Building Inspector will perform inspections and plan reviews to ensure construction work meets all applicable state, federal, and local codes and ordinances. ICC Building Inspector certification is highly desired.Key Responsibilities:Inspect residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for compliance with structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, accessibility, and fire codes.Review construction plans and recommend corrections or revisions to ensure compliance with codes and standards.Verify workmanship and materials conform to approved plans and specifications.Provide technical guidance to contractors, engineers, and architects.Generate inspection reports and maintain detailed records of field activities.Respond to and resolve citizen or contractor inquiries and complaints.Assist with training and quality checks for inspection staff to ensure consistent standards.Stay current on building codes, materials, and construction methods.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong understanding of California Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Fire Codes.Skilled in reading blueprints and technical specifications.Ability to identify code violations and enforce compliance tactfully.Excellent communication, organization, and report-writing skills.Experience leading, training, or mentoring inspection staff is a plus.Licenses and Certifications:Valid California Class C Driver's License required.ICC Building Inspection Certification preferred.
