Superb Custom Homes, an established custom home builder in Northville, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee residential new construction projects from start to finish.
This is a key role within a small, hands-on team. The Construction Manager will have significant responsibility for managing projects in the field while serving as an important point of contact for homeowners, trade partners, architects, designers, and vendors. We are looking for someone who combines strong construction knowledge with professionalism, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage ground-up residential construction projects from site preparation through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and deliveries
- Monitor project budgets, costs, selections, and changes
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, workmanship, safety, and quality
- Identify potential issues early and take ownership of resolving them
- Coordinate and communicate with homeowners throughout the construction process
- Work closely with company ownership, architects, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and Superb's quality standards
- Maintain organized project documentation and provide clear, timely updates on project status
Qualifications
- Experience managing construction projects, with ground-up residential new construction experience strongly preferred
- 5 years of construction management, project management, superintendent, or comparable construction experience preferred
- Experience with custom, semi-custom, or high-end residential construction strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor management, budgets, inspections, and quality control
- Ability to independently manage projects, anticipate issues, and make sound decisions in the field
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working directly with clients/homeowners preferred
- Professional presence and the ability to build trust with clients and trade partners
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

The right person will be someone who takes ownership, communicates well, notices the details, holds themselves and others to high standards, and understands the importance of the homeowner experience. They should be equally comfortable walking a jobsite with a subcontractor, reviewing a schedule or budget, and having a professional conversation with a homeowner.
Experience in high-end custom residential construction is highly valued; however, we are also interested in construction professionals with strong transferable experience who demonstrate the judgment, aptitude, and commitment to quality needed to succeed in a custom-home environment.
Compensation: Starting at $95,000, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $95,000.00 per year
