Job Title: Director of Happiness and Scoopervisor
Location: Super Secret Ice Cream
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (On-site & Flexible)
Compensation: $50,000 annually, paid weekly profit-sharing pool two weeks paid vacation
About the Role
We’re looking for a collaborative, kind, and organized person to lead the front-of-house team at Super Secret Ice Cream. As our Director of Happiness and Scoopervisor, you’ll be responsible for making sure every guest and team member feels welcome, supported, and cared for. You’ll oversee daily operations, support our scoopers, and help create a workplace culture that values communication, accountability, and joy.

What You'll Do...Team Scheduling
- Create fair, thoughtful weekly schedules for the front-of-house team.
- Ensure strong coverage during busy shifts and events, while balancing labor efficiency.
- Manage time-off requests, shift changes, and coverage needs independently.
- Work to keep scooper labor costs under 15% of revenue without compromising staff wellbeing.
Training & Team Development
- Lead training for new hires with clarity, patience, and encouragement.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to current team members.
- Keep training materials updated, clear, and inclusive.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and fun work environment where all team members feel safe and valued.
Scoopervision (a.k.a. Team Support)
- Be a present, approachable, and proactive leader during shifts.
- Give regular, constructive feedback in a supportive way.
- Address conflicts or concerns quickly and respectfully, with an emphasis on understanding and resolution.
- Be available 24/7 during Summer months for emergencies or time sensitive staff questions (within reason)
Customer Experience
- Make sure every guest feels seen, appreciated, and welcomed.
- Model high standards of customer care and professionalism.
- Handle customer feedback with empathy, grace, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Operations & Seasonality
- Scoop when needed (yes, you’ll still wield the scoop!).
- Keep the front-of-house stocked, clean, and organized.
- Manage inventory and supply ordering.
- Summer: Focus more on scheduling, managing, and daily operations
- Winter: More time scooping and supporting special projects.
- Spring: Heavy on hiring, onboarding, and preparing for the season.
Communication & Leadership
- Build on communications systems to keep staff updated & keep training materials up to date.
- Respond to staff questions (via phone or Homebase) in a timely manner—even on days off for time-sensitive issues.
What We're Looking For

- Previous leadership experience in hospitality, customer service, or retail
- Strong communication and team-building skills
- Comfort with scheduling software and basic computer tasks
- Able to stay organized, calm, and kind in a fast-paced environment
Other Things to Know
- This is a full-time, year-round position.
- Expect to work weekends between Memorial Day and Columbus Day. If you need time off during this period, you’ll be responsible for arranging coverage in advance.
- Outside that seasonal stretch, you’ll receive two weeks paid vacation.
- The job involves standing, scooping, and moving around—so some physical stamina is helpful.
