Duties
- Prepare and assemble deli products including slicing meats, cheeses, and other specialty items using operating kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking food service orders accurately and upselling products to enhance sales
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail sales transactions, cash handling, and processing payments efficiently
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Manage food handling procedures to ensure freshness, quality, and safety of all deli items
- Assist with inventory management by restocking shelves, rotating products, and monitoring product freshness
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or retail environments such as quick service restaurants or grocery stores is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, safety standards, sanitation practices, and kitchen equipment operation
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to perform basic math for cash register operations and inventory counts
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and effective communication abilities
- Experience with food handling, serving, cashiering, and food safety management is desirable
- Culinary experience or café experience is advantageous but not mandatory
