The responsibility of the Medical Administrative Professional is to provide outstanding quality customer service to patients, families, referring providers, departmental physicians and staff and other customers of the office. Perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties.
- Schedule patient appointments in Epic and Aria as appropriate for each physician; contact patients to change appointments, as needed
- Request and obtain needed medical records including notes, exams and tests for all new patients referred from another physician practice; this may involve coordination with the nurse for specific records; all patient information to be discarded should be shredded
- Scan appropriate records into Epic and/or ChartMaxx and ensure records are saved in the appropriate location/folder/tabs
- Verify and update demographic and insurance information for all patients returning for follow-up visits and for all patients at the beginning of each new year
- Maintain adequate water and coffee supplies for the office via the W.B. Mason account
- Maintain copy machines by replacing toner/cartridges and/or call for service when needed

- Contributes to the overall organizations process improvement activities. Demonstrates critical thinking skills in identifying and analyzing problems and recommending solutions
- All other duties as assigned
High school or equivalent and two years of secretarial/administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with Oncology specialty and ambulatory care services and experience with Medical Data Base systems (Epic) for patient registration and scheduling preferred.
Work Days:Monday through Friday daytime hours - This position is located in Verona NY
