About The Position:
This position will be responsible for phone, email, virtual and in-person financial advising; aid program management; financial transactions; and promoting cost and aid awareness through on campus presentations and student facing events. Student Financial Services (SFS) provides accessible, accurate, and responsive financial aid and student account services that enable students to successfully achieve their educational goals. We follow institutional, state, and federal rules in a legal, ethical and consistent manner. We are part of the Enrollment and Student Success division which supports a student's entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. Using a holistic model, we partner with students, faculty, staff, and community affiliates to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety, and well-being of the student body. As SUNY Plattsburgh is an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Work experience in a customer service or client support role that involves sensitive financial or confidential matters
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely
- Proficient computer, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to support a diverse community and promote diverse perspectives, cultures, and an inclusive environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a financial aid or student accounts office
- Experience conducting large scale outreach initiatives
- Public speaking experience
- Experience using Banner or related student information systems
