You’ll perform a variety of routine manual tasks in cleaning and caring for an assigned area. Typical tasks assigned to this position include:
- Cleaning, dusting, and polishing assigned areas, including furniture, metal fixtures, and equipment
- Maintaining floors, corridors, stairs, and stairwells by washing, stripping, waxing floors, and vacuuming and shampooing carpets
- Cleaning and scrubbing walls, partitions, and windows from the inside or outside of buildings and all areas of lavatories and locker rooms, including cleaning blood spills and bodily fluids
- Moving furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning activities, meeting set up, or special events

- 1st: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- 2nd: 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.
- 3rd: 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
There are no education or experience requirements for this class. Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.

DEPARTMENTAL OPERATING NEEDS:
- Ability to perform medium to heavy labor and lifting (a minimum of 50 pounds).
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, climb ladders and work on scaffolding
- Ability to use a variety of custodial trade tools and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
