Position Summary
The Office of the Registrar at SUNY Geneseo provides exceptional service to the college community with the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, efficiency, and security. We collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to provide comprehensive management of enrollment and academic records. Our services include: maintaining academic records within the student information system, processing transfer credit, creating the course schedule, conferring degrees and overseeing the graduation process, supporting the Degree Works audit software, ensuring State and Federal compliance, and adhering to SUNY regulations.
The Assistant Registrar for Transfer Articulation plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of student academic records, thereby supporting student success and ensuring compliance with institutional and academic requirements. The Assistant Registrar for Transfer Articulation plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of student academic records, thereby supporting student success and ensuring compliance with institutional and academic requirements. The position will be a key team member in the Office of the Registrar and will be responsible for a number of transfer-related functions, including:
- Evaluate and process transfer credit (including pre-college credit) for incoming and continuing students, ensuring that academic policies are applied consistently and efficiently
- Collaborate with deans, chairs, and program coordinators to manage curriculum-related processes and ensure accurate and efficient transfer credit evaluation
- Maintain and audit SUNY Geneseo’s transfer databank to ensure accurate course equivalencies; research, analyze, and implement changes to databank setup
- Interact with students to answer questions and solve problems related to transfer articulation
- Work with colleagues to support implementation of EdVisorly software solutions for transfer support
- Provide subject matter expertise for all transfer-related questions, training colleagues as needed on transfer articulation processes
- Support day-to-day operations of the Registrar’s Office, offering customer support and cross-training on critical functions
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years or more of experience in higher education
- Proficiency with Banner or another student information system (SIS)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and ability to navigate and learn new software products
- A commitment to the campus values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, research, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate on complex issues and projects
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently and as part of a team
- Experience managing and prioritizing multiple assignments and projects
- Candidates for this position must be eligible to work in the United States. VISA sponsorship is not offered.
