What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Sport Facilities Manager position at SUNY Cortland?
The Assistant Sport Facilities Manager will serve as an integral part of the leadership team of the Campus Event Management office. They will provide leadership, vision, and supervision for a multiuse facility, including the supervision of the day-to-day operation of the arena and all associated activities and programming. This includes participation in major events such as Commencement, Spring Fling concert, Honors Convocation, and Spring Open House, and coordination of all activities that take place on the ice such as varsity and club ice hockey games and practices, PE classes, and intramural activities. This position will assist in running events that occur at all of Cortland’s sports facilities on campus, including the Stadium Complex, Park Center, Lusk Fieldhouse, etc.
Major Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage the Alumni Arena (for events both with and without ice)
- Assist with supervision of sport facilities (evening and weekend hours required)
- Manage ice installation, daily ice maintenance and ice removal, maintenance and operation of ice arena equipment including ice resurfacer and ice edger
- Hire, train, schedule and supervise student personnel
- Purchase, maintain and store all inventory, equipment and supplies related to arena operations
Assist with the development, and implementation of sport facilities operational policies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,000.00 - $57,500.00 per year
