Sunview Logistics is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Assistant to support our growing fleet operations. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in transportation safety and compliance.
Position: Safety Assistant
Location: Stockton, CA
Experience Required: Verifiable 1–2 years in a transportation safety role
Systems Knowledge: SAMSARA, Hours of Service (HOS)
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and review HOS compliance for all drivers
- Utilize SAMSARA to track logs, violations, and safety alerts
- Assist in conducting internal safety audits and compliance checks
- Support onboarding of new drivers (orientation, safety briefings, document verification)
- Maintain accurate safety records and reporting
- Communicate with drivers regarding violations and corrective actions
- Ensure DOT/FMCSA regulations are followed at all times
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of verifiable experience in trucking safety or compliance
- Strong knowledge of SAMSARA dashboard, reports, and safety tools
- Understanding of HOS regulations, logs, and ELD requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work under minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
