A Soldering Technician at SunTech Medical contributes to the assembly and testing of high-precision medical devices. This role is essential in upholding our commitment to creating innovative blood pressure monitoring products that improve patient care quality. The assembler identifies, investigates, and troubleshoots production issues and addresses material shortages, ensuring that our devices meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform sub-assembly and final assembly on printed circuit boards following defined procedures.
  • Conduct and document testing according to established protocols, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Document and report test failures and non-conformances, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Record production data accurately and promptly in SunTech’s ERP system.
  • Adhere to the production schedule, communicating changes to the production supervisor.
  • Solder through-hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components with precision.
  • Meet soldering standards by completing J-STD certification and passing a skills evaluation.
  • Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols.
  • Rotate through manufacturing tasks in a team environment to support flexible operations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve production delays or disruptions.
  • Mentor and support team members, contributing to a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain 6S standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Quality Focus/Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain a quality-first approach, following procedures without deviation.
    • Participate in quality system activities, such as updating production documentation, maintaining Device History Records (DHRs), investigating complaints, supporting CAPA projects, and controlling inventory.
    • Ensure that communication is professional and suitable for audit purposes.
    • Actively engage in continuous improvement efforts to support quality and innovation.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to visually inspect work and documentation with precision.
  • Stand for up to eight hours per day, with the ability to move about, bend, stoop, use hands, and lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
  • Possess fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision, such as assembling and handling small components.
  • Comfortable using a microscope for extended periods during shifts.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders to remove or place items on racks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One or more years of manufacturing experience as an electronic assembler, with proven soldering proficiency, preferably in electronics and medical devices. Proficiency with PC use, Microsoft Office programs, and ERP systems is required.
