What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Systems Engineer position at Sunstone Welders?
At Sunstone Engineering, we design and build precision micro-welding systems that combine embedded control, high-power electronics, and real-world manufacturing—all under one roof.
We’re looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer who enjoys working across both hardware and firmware and wants to see their designs go all the way to production.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Design and develop embedded systems across both hardware and firmware
· Troubleshoot and improve existing products through hands-on debugging and root cause analysis
· Drive reliability and manufacturability improvements in current product lines
· Contribute to new product development from concept through production
· Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are robust and buildable
What We’re Looking For
· Experience across both PCB design and embedded firmware
· Strong understanding of real-world hardware behavior (noise, timing, signal integrity)
· Someone who enjoys working on physical systems—not just writing code
Experience Areas
· Embedded C/C (bare metal or RTOS)
· 32-bit microcontrollers
· Interfaces: SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet
· Analog design (signal conditioning, op-amps, ADC/DAC)
· PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, SolidWorks PCB, etc.)
Why This Role is Different
· You’ll work across both hardware and firmware (not siloed)
· Your work goes directly into real manufactured products
· Close collaboration with an in-house manufacturing team
· Fast feedback loop between design, testing, and production
Compensation
$90,000 – $110,000 depending on experience
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
