Sunstates Security has an immediate opening for a talented, professional, and motivated Operations Manager to help lead our NY Regional office in the NYC boroughs and in Westchester County. The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily functioning of security services for a portfolio of contract sites including operations, customer service, personnel management, recruiting, administration and security & safety in accordance with Sunstates objectives.
The ideal candidate will provide leadership to employees and develop and maintain strong relationships with employees and customers.
This position offers a salary of $70,000 in addition to a monthly vehicle allowance plus mileage, an annual performance-based bonus, full medical, dental and vision insurance benefits, a 401k plan with company match, generous PTO, tuition assistance and more.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the administration, management and recruiting of the region by:
- Training, developing, and motivating supervisory staff to effectively oversee all day-to-day operations of the site security personnel.
- Training subordinate supervisors on software systems, procedural guidelines, and Company policies and enforcing consistency in policy practice.
- Enter weekly payroll into the payroll system and ensure payroll and billing are accurate.
- Confirm all billing is correct by reviewing weekly SAR reports, reviewing invoices, and communicating with accounts receivable.
- Reviewing weekly scheduling and setting up schedules in advance.
- Control all unbillable overtime and reduce overtime percentages weekly and meet company overtime goal.
- Conducting regular in-person meetings with clients.
- Conducting quarterly in-person customer survey with clients.
- Respond to personnel concerns and resolve them within a timely manner.
- Coordinating with the Regional Manager to establish regional goals and objectives and communicate these with branch staff.
- Working with sales and marketing to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Conducting interviews, hiring, and completing the employee on-boarding process into the system including collecting new hire paperwork and uploading documents for processing.
- Visiting sites to follow up on employee training and completing employee surveys for new hires.
- Completing monthly required site visits and audits in accordance with the Quality Assurance program. Site visits are required to be completed monthly into the system and includes site visits in the evenings and weekends.
- Weekly review of Compliance such as Security licensing, Training and CPR.
- Set up CPR training for new hires and renewals.
- Provide positive employee experience.
- Conduct risk assessment surveys.
- Updating Security Operations Manuals.
- Assist in special projects within the region.
- Communicate with Site Supervisors daily/weekly on operational needs.
- Conduct regular Site Supervisor meeting to review expectations.
- Assist with other sites and/or other Operations Managers as directed.
- Set up security tour systems when required and monitor security patrols.
- Acknowledging employees for outstanding job performance.
- Assist other Operations Managers with new account start-ups and covering PTO.
- Work on creating schedules for new hires and managing team schedules.
- Attend and set job fairs for hiring.
- Manage security team and provide support to security staff.
- Order uniforms for new hires and order replacement uniforms.
- Work on new accounts start-ups and lead transition meetings and update transition notes
- Communicate with customers on hiring needs.
- Communicate with the Sunstates management team.
The requirements for the Operations Manager include:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university is preferred.
- 3 or more years of related management and leadership in the security industry, law enforcement or military.
- Experience in hiring, management and recruiting.
- Have a valid NYS Security Guard License.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong Computer proficiency with MS Office products.
- Experience in Human Resource management.
- Experience with Win-Team scheduling software.
