Job Skills / Requirements

HIRING IMMEDIATELY!     

Sunstates Security is currently hiring for an Armed Part-Time Security Officer in the Rutherfordton, North Carolina area. 3rd shift is available! This position offers a pay rate of $19.00-$20.00/hr - paid weekly.          

Qualifications:       

• Ability to use computer/smart phone app.
• Possess or the ability to obtain an Armed SLED card.
• Firearms safety and proficiency.
• Excellent communication, observation, and documentation skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk/patrol for extended periods of time.
• Must be dependable, adaptable, and committed to maintaining a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:        

• Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety, security, and policy compliance.
• Monitor security cameras and access control systems, responding promptly to suspicious activity or alarm.
• Maintain high-quality written and verbal communication at all times.
• Complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation with accuracy and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, Operations Managers, and site leadership.

Operational Expectations     

• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality; reliability is a core requirement.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Follow all company policies, post orders, and client expectation.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.    

Education Requirements (All)

High School diploma or equivalent
