Summary:
This position is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and planning Materials Department activities under the direction of the Director of Support Services, while providing oversight and support to all personnel assigned to the department. Responsibilities include delivering performance feedback, conducting investigations related to complaints, incidents, and internal or external customer concerns. The position also serves as a liaison with other departments to support operational needs, including inventory management, unit deployment, and ensuring the quality and cleanliness of campuses, vehicles, and equipment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prompt and regular attendance at work.
- Support and implement the philosophies, objectives, policies, procedures and practices of Sunstar Paramedics.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and professional responses to emails and departmental communications.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of staff and personnel to ensure maximum communication and cooperation.
- Supervise the daily planning and delegation of workload to materials personnel.
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, training, remediation, and professional growth to assistant materials supervision and all personnel assigned to the department, ensuring employee performance in identified key performance areas.
- Contribute in providing an optimal, safe, supportive, and engaged culture for all employees.
- Review, plan, and implement process improvement programs.
- Design and oversee onboarding/ongoing training programs for Materials personnel.
- Maintain all departmental records of quality assurance programs, project management, equipment, training, and other data collection pertinent to the department.
- Oversee that all necessary work functions pertinent to the preparation of units are completed to the highest of quality and timely standards.
- Conduct frequent travel to deployment locations to monitor and audit inventory levels, maintain established PAR standards, and ensure equipment, unit, and facility cleanliness and operational requirements are met.
- Use and ensure utilization of company operated tracking software throughout the department.
- Serve as primary backup to IMA – Controlled Substances.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (i.e. SOP’s environmental audits, unit reviews, etc.).
- Participate in departmental and company meetings as required.
- Attend specific continuing education and training to obtain information and data pertinent to department operations.
- Performs other such duties as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Good computer skills, Microsoft suite competency, LMS Skills.
- Effective communication and human relations skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years prior supervisory experience
- College Degree
- Prior training experience
- Lives in Pinellas County
Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to sit; climb or balance; step, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry a minimum of 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Environment:
This position works outdoors and indoors with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and to blood/body fluids, fumes/odors, extended day, and temperature changes. Frequently works with others, face-to-face contact with others with exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment.
This position may require flexible scheduling, including non-standard hours, to support 24-hour operations.
