About the Company

We are seeking a commercially minded sales professional who thrives on building relationships, creating opportunities, and winning new business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, a disciplined approach to pipeline management, and the ability to engage confidently with business owners and executive decision-makers. They view themselves as a trusted advisor rather than a transactional salesperson and are motivated by growth, achievement, and long-term client success. They are equally comfortable prospecting for new opportunities, developing strategic account plans, collaborating with internal teams, and positioning sophisticated risk management solutions that create measurable value for clients. The best candidates will be attracted to the opportunity to accelerate growth within a platform that provides meaningful resources, strong carrier relationships, and a commitment to organic growth.

About the Role

Drive New Business Growth. Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on generating new commercial insurance revenue within target industries and market segments. Build and maintain a robust pipeline through proactive prospecting, referral partner development, networking, centers of influence, and executive-level relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full sales process from initial outreach and discovery through proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and close.
  • Engage business owners, executives, and key stakeholders in meaningful discussions regarding risk management, insurance strategy, operational exposures, and long-term business objectives.
  • Analyze client operations, contracts, loss history, and risk profiles to identify exposures and develop customized insurance and risk management solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Establish long-term relationships with clients and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the business relationship.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client engagement through account expansion, cross-selling, and introductions to additional products, services, and specialized expertise across the organization.
  • Partner with service teams to ensure a seamless client experience while maintaining ownership of the overall relationship.
  • Leverage relationships with carrier partners and underwriting teams to develop competitive solutions for prospective and existing clients.
  • Work closely with internal marketing professionals, risk advisors, and carrier representatives to structure programs, negotiate terms, and secure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Contribute to agency growth objectives through participation in sales planning, targeted industry initiatives, client acquisition campaigns, and strategic market development efforts.
  • Maintain visibility into pipeline activity, sales forecasting, and production goals while actively managing opportunities through the agency's CRM platform.
  • Represent the organization with the highest degree of professionalism, integrity, and technical expertise.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, coverage developments, and emerging risks through continuing education, professional designation programs, and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, regulatory standards, and agency procedures while maintaining accurate documentation and client records.

Qualifications

  • Active Property & Casualty License.
  • Demonstrated success generating new commercial insurance business and managing client relationships.
  • Proven ability to prospect, develop opportunities, and close new business.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build credibility with business owners, financial decision makers, and senior executives.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and insurance technology tools.

Required Skills

  • Five or more years of commercial insurance production experience.
  • Established network of business relationships and referral sources.
  • Experience working with middle-market and large commercial accounts.
  • Professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, CRM, ARM, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop niche expertise or industry specialization.
