Qualifications
- PCA or HHA Certification (New York State required)
- Graduate of a NYS Department of Health-approved HHA program or currently enrolled under RN supervision
- At least 18 years old; ability to read and write in English
- Must meet NYS DOH physical and annual compliance requirements (PPD/QuantiFERON, TB questionnaire, chest x-ray if applicable)
- 12 hours of annual in-service training
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, feeding, and scheduling appointments
- Help with safe transfers, ambulation, and prescribed exercises under RN supervision
- Monitor and report vital signs, weight, and intake/output as directed
- Prepare modified diets and maintain accurate documentation of services provided
- Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment while protecting client confidentiality
