Project Scope:
The Database Administrator (Consultant) will be responsible for performing
advanced data modeling and production database support in both Oracle and MS SQL environments. Key deliverables include:
- Current-state
assessment report of existing ERwin data models
- New or
updated logical and physical data models in ERwin (.erwin files)
- Data
dictionaries and full model documentation
- Version-controlled
data model repository
- Identification
of data integrity, consistency issues, and duplicate data
- Reporting
and recommendations to address identified issues
- Weekly
progress reports
- Final
project summary at closeout
In addition, this role will supplement the
existing DBA team with production support tasks, including:
- Daily
tickets
- Version
updates
- Security
updates
- After-hours
work as required
You will collaborate with a team of six
database engineers/administrators and work closely with application architects,
developers, business analysts, and server support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and
maintain logical and physical data models using ERwin Data Modeler
- Update model
documentation and manage metadata
- Perform
reverse and forward engineering of database structures
- Provide data
modeling best practices and documentation standards
- Ensure
models support scalability, performance, and integrity requirements
- Identify and
resolve data integrity and duplication issues
- Produce
reports and recommendations based on findings
- Collaborate
with data architects, DBAs, developers, and business analysts
- Maintain
version control of models and manage repositories
- Support data
governance and compliance efforts
- Perform
similar modeling tasks for MS SQL databases as needed
- Provide
Oracle and MS SQL production DBA support as directed by the DBA Manager
Required Skills & Experience:
· 3 years of
professional Data Modeling experience using ERwin (or similar tools)
· Oracle 19c DBA and/or SQL Server 2019/2022 experience
Preferred Skills:
· SQL Server DBA
Certification
· DD Boost for
Oracle backup/restore operations
· Oracle Grid
Control
· Oracle ASM
Certifications:
· Oracle Certified
Associate (OCA) or equivalent
