What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Driver B1 (Receiving) Night Shift position at Sunset?
Our Jonestown Distribution Center, a 218,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7, is currently seeking full time Forklift drivers with experience operating the High-Reach lift and/or Stand-Up Counterbalance lift to join our team. The essential function of this position is to provide exceptional customer support through ensuring the accuracy of inventory movement and warehousing. Accuracy in both shipping and inventory are paramount. The individual is responsible for a wide variety of duties including but not limited to this job description.
Full-Time Available Shifts: Alternating 3 day/4 day weekly schedule (equivalent to working approx. 15 days/month
Night Shift
6pm - 5:30 am
Primary Responsibilities:
- Safely drive and operate high reach, stand-up forklift and motorized pallet jacks with knowledge of packaging specs and requirements to ensure safe movement of product to destination
- Properly select/load/inspect and sort product inventory per supervisor direction
- Perform label and product inspections with high accuracy to ensure integrity of pallet movement and food safety guidelines.
- Responsible for the breakdown and rebuilding of pallets of products
- Ensure all equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly fashion, assisting with the general clean up of the warehouse throughout the shift
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum of 1 year operating a Stand-Up Counterbalance Forklift or High Reach with experience working with racking systems
- Experience with RF scan gun preferred
- Experience with JDA/Red Prairie preferred
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in English (verbal/written/reading)
- Ability to read and understand daily work instructions and procedures
- Must pass our onsite driving and safety test
- Must possess valid driver’s license or present proof of current eye exam (within 1 yr.)
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in our refrigerated warehouse, 50° F controlled temperature zones
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. frequently during shift
- Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending, squatting, and crawling on a regular basis
