About the Role
NO CDL NEEEDED. VEHICLE PROVIDED. As a Driver with Sunset Transportation, you'll play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and friendly transportation for community members. You'll work closely with dispatch and operations staff to ensure passengers— including seniors and individuals with limited mobility—are transported with care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any issues immediately
- Communicate daily with Dispatchers and Operations Manager
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and submit them as required
- Provide safe and courteous transportation for passengers, including those with mobility needs
- Assist passengers with wheelchairs and mobility devices, including securing equipment and operating lifts safely
- Lift and handle items or mobility aids weighing up to 60 lbs
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
- Participate in ongoing training opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to assist passengers or inspect vehicles
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Frequent physical activity, including maneuvering wheelchairs and operating vehicle lifts
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Driver's License with fewer than 6 points
- Must pass BCI/FBI background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage time effectively
- Strong reliability and punctuality
- Good communication skills and ability to interact well with passengers and staff
- Ability to read and understand procedures, manuals, and correspondence
