Security Guard

Position Purpose

Maintains security and safety of employees, guests, and properly in assigned areas by patrolling and securing areas on foot and enforcing Company rules and policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Patrols:

• Stationed in the lobby, especially when large groups arrive and/or exit providing   guests with a sense of security.
• Patrols various parts of the property; checks doors and stairwells to ensure locks are secure and no danger is lurking.
• Patrols outdoors as well as room hallways and other activity areas, such as the pool.
• Maintains communication through property radio/walkie-talkie.

Response:    

• Responds to complaints and calls for help if necessary. Whether the guard hears a cry for help or is summoned by other staff, the Guard must be prepared to rush to a potentially dangerous scene and calm the guests or control a situation until local police can arrive.

Surveillance:

• May be required to monitor security cameras, alarm systems and other electronic surveillance equipment.

Escorts:

• The Security Guard may be called to escort unruly patrons from the property. Loitered not registered at the hotel may need an escort off the property.

Administrative Duties:

• The job requirement for Security Guard includes a requirement for flexibility due to the 24/7 environment of the hotel. The Guard must be available to work set shifts and cover alternate shifts when necessary. After each shift, the security officer must complete a report and communicate all activity(ies) encountered during the shift.
• Schedule, evacuation and emergency procedures manual and training.
• MOD checklist and Engineering checklist, hot water.
