Sunset Distributing is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and accuracy to handle route reconciliation and settlement.
This is a full time position. The hours required are Monday through Friday, starting at either 11 a.m. or noon depending upon the season, and ending when all Delivery Reps are in and all work is complete. Expected hours range between 40-50 hours per week.
This position is accountable for balancing and finalizing the daily delivery routes, depositing checks, money orders/cashier’s checks, and receiving invoice paperwork/providing assistance with the Accounts Receivable team. The Route Reconciliation Specialist (RRS) receives and verifies daily check receipts from each Delivery Representative as each Rep returns each day. The RRS is expected to verify the deposit ticket is complete and accurate, and verify that the deposit matches the amount due for that day’s deliveries. The RRS conducts these activities in the presence of the Delivery Rep so both are involved in counting and balancing the deposit, then deposit the checks into the bank by the end of business. The RRS also posts payments to individual accounts and prepares other paperwork associated with the deposits. The RRS is the liaison position between Delivery and Finance departments and facilitates efficient and effective work flows for both departments. RSS must notify either department of any and all issues regarding delivery or finance.

This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word plus the ability to quickly learn and utilize in-house computer and software systems. A background in accounting is desired; we will consider both education and on-the-job experience when evaluating candidates. Strong computer skills are a must.
