Summary:

As a Route Driver at Sunset Bus Lines, LLC., you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transport of students. This position is essential to our mission of delivering exceptional service to families while fostering a supportive environment for children.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate school buses on designated routes, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with students, parents, and school staff.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding student transportation.
• Report any incidents or issues promptly to management for resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
• Maintain a clean bus interior

Requirements: (NO PRIOR CDL EXPERIENCE NEEDED)

• Be at least 21 years of age (to meet DOT requirements for passenger & interstate travel)
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years
• Clean complete/full (non-certified) driving record from every state a license was held in previous 10 years
• Clean Criminal Background - background check processed by Carroll County Public Schools Transportation Department
• Pass a DOT Physical (1 year DOT School Bus Physical - conducted by our contracted provider)
• Attend School Bus Driver Training classes (provided by CCPS Transportation Dept. for FREE!)
• Dependability - on time for each scheduled work day
• Able to report back to work on short notice if schools dismiss early

• GREAT STARTING PAY
• No Prior CDL driving Experience needed
• Training is provided for FREE (CDL training is for school bus only)
• Employment is Part-time (180 school days)
• Full Regular bus route drivers are GUARANTEED 6 hours per scheduled day
• Flexible Schedule - bus runs in AM & PM with mid-day (off the clock) break
• Additional driving work available by sign-up (May include nights or weekends)
• Attendance Bonus available - requirements must be met
• Safety Bonus available - requirements must be met
• Sick & Safe Leave is available - requirements must be met

Job Type: Part-time (180 standard school days)

Full Route Drivers: Guaranteed 6 hours per day

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week for full route drivers

Sub Drivers: May work either on call or schedule availability with dispatcher
