Primary Duty:
Provide daily technical and administrative support for Project Managers, Estimators, and Superintendents. Coordinate all shop drawings, processing submittals, and gathering and distributing information. The right candidate for this position must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication skills.
Essential Functions of Role:
The project engineer is responsible for the control the project document and procurement process with daily, weekly and monthly project activities consisting of, but not limited to, the following:
- Positively interact with all project participants
- RFIs, submittals, document control and as-built upkeep
- Quantity take offs including material procurement and project bid analysis
- Attend and participate in pre-op, subcontractor, owner and team meetings
- Manage and maintain material delivery logs
- Assist in process of issuing subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders
- Field measurement and site verification activities
- Manage the closeout process
- Complete job-site punch lists, work with owner manuals and warranties
- Performs schedule updates with input from project team
- Manage the job specific quality program
- Prepare weekly update reports with assistance from Project Manager
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft office software
- Basic understanding of scheduling software and scheduling principles/logic
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong math, critical thinking, communications, and problem-solving skills
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience within this career field
