POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Software Engineer builds software solutions for business applications as a hands-on technical lead within a high-functioning Agile team. This role guides technical delivery for assigned projects across the entire development lifecycle and application layers: presentation, business logic, and data. Responsibilities include application design, development, and testing, supported by a thorough understanding of applicable technologies, tools, and existing designs. The engineer provides technical guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolving highly complex technical problems and ensures solutions meet quality, security, and compliance requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design, develop and deliver code that is necessary to support new feature developments and enhancements in an agile environment
- Serve as the hands-on technical lead for assigned projects, coordinating technical implementation across contributors and driving delivery from discovery through deployment in collaboration with business stakeholders and project managers
- Deliver unit tests and automated tests with all code to prove correctness, robustness, and scalability
- Interface with 3rd party data vendors to consume 3rd Party APIs
- Provide innovative ideas and solutions in an ever-changing environment
- Possess solid communication skills and a strong customer focus
- Develop user facing UI using RESTful APIs and modern frontend frameworks
- An understanding of how to acquire business domain knowledge and apply it to automated solutions
- Address issues and mitigate risks, communicate status to business stakeholders, IT leaders and other IT teams impacted by the project

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years software development/engineering experience
- Experience developing or supporting software in a banking environment preferred
- Experience in a polyglot environment utilizing multiple languages including: C#, Golang, Python, Typescript
- Experience with modern UI web development – Angular preferred, React/Vue are good alternatives
- Strong experience with database design in a variety of technologies: SQL Server, Snowflake, Mongo DB
- Azure experience including AKS, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, Synapse, Data Factory
- Experience building distributed and scalable applications utilizing REST services and messaging technologies
- Experience with CI/CD Pipelines such as Azure DevOps Pipelines, Harness, Jenkins
- Strong understanding of authorization and authentication
- Data Streaming and/or Messaging experience with RabbitMQ/Kafka/etc
- Knowledge of domain driven design, software design patterns and design principles
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, MIS, or related technical field; or, a minimum of 4 years of equivalent professional experience and high school diploma/GED
- Self-starter with strong desire to learn new concepts, processes, and technologies
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with AI tools and maintains an open, curious approach to emerging technologies
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Annualized salary range: $96,533 $137,904 $179,275
