Job Overview:

Sunrise Village of Milaca is seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our Assisted Living Facility. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appetizing meals for our residents in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences. Your role is essential in promoting a positive dining experience and contributing to the overall well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation:

• Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to the established menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are palatable, visually appealing, and served at the appropriate temperatures.
• Modify recipes and menus to accommodate specific dietary needs and preferences of residents.

Food Safety and Sanitation:

• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Regularly inspect kitchen equipment and appliances to ensure proper functioning.
• Follow proper procedures for food storage, handling, and disposal.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels and order food and supplies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of food usage and waste.
• Assist in receiving and verifying deliveries of food and supplies.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and dietary aides.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and management to ensure a smooth operation.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Resident Interaction:

• Engage with residents to understand their dietary preferences and special requests.
• Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Address and resolve any resident concerns related to meals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare, assisted living, or similar environment preferred.
• Knowledge of dietary guidelines and restrictions for elderly populations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
