General Responsibilities:** As part of a multidisciplinary team; conduct psychiatric assessments; assess physical health needs; make appropriate referrals to community physicians; provide supervision, management, and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist; deliver medication management, medication reviews/updates and occasional initial psychiatric evaluation services for clients who receive services from Sunrise Services Community Mental Health program.

Principal Duties, Responsibilities, And Essential Job Functions

Conduct face-to-face appointments with Sunrise Services Community Mental Health program clients in order to assess the client's need for psychotropic medications, to prescribe and/or administer medications and to review the client's medications and their side effects.
Provide occasional short-term psychotherapy to program clients.
Obtain appropriate informed consent from clients regarding medication effects, risks/benefits and possible adverse effects of medications.
Prepare and maintain accurate, complete and timely documentation of prescriber services rendered to program clients.
Provide consultation and training to Sunrise Services Community Mental Health program staff regarding appropriate use of psychotropic medications.
