Sunrise is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to residents, families, and staff across our Nursing, Assisted Living, and Independent Living communities. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve seniors through faith, ministry, and connection.
This is a part time position approximately 20-25 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Lead worship services, prayer groups, Bible studies, and spiritual programs
- Provide pastoral counseling, bereavement support, and crisis intervention
- Offer one-on-one spiritual visits, including in-room visits for residents with limited mobility
- Coordinate with local clergy when needed for services or coverage
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
- Maintain accurate records of services and attendance
- Collaborate with a multi-faith team to support residents of all backgrounds
- Provide occasional spiritual education/in-services for staff
• 2–4 years of chaplaincy, ministry, or related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field preferred (not required)
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead regular services and small groups
• Alignment with Sunrise mission, values, and ethical standards
• Compassionate, respectful, and resident-focused approach
• Flexibility to adjust hours based on resident needs (within budgeted hours)
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand up to 50% of the day
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
• Ability to walk across campus buildings as needed
• Valid driver’s license
