Role Description The Senior Portfolio Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, with flexibility for some work from home. This role oversees a portfolio of community associations, ensuring sound financial management, adherence to governing documents, and high levels of resident satisfaction. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing financial reports, monitoring budgets and reserves, guiding boards on investment and spending decisions, and coordinating with vendors and service providers. The Senior Portfolio Manager will attend board and committee meetings, prepare reports and recommendations, respond to association inquiries, and help develop strategies that support long-term property value and community well-being. This role also mentors junior team members, supports process improvements, and upholds Sunrise’s standards of proactive, solution-oriented management.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, assess portfolio performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of finance and budgeting, including understanding of association financial statements, reserves, and cash flow management.
- Experience in portfolio management, preferably overseeing multiple communities or real estate assets, with a focus on long-term value creation.
- Familiarity with investments and trading principles relevant to association reserves and related financial strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with boards, residents, vendors, and internal teams.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple associations and deadlines.
- Experience in property or community association management; industry certifications (e.g., CMCA, AMS, PCAM) are highly desirable.
- Proficiency with property management and accounting software, along with solid skills in standard office applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
