Sunrise of Philadelphia is seeking enthusiastic Group Leaders to work directly with K–12 youth during after-school and summer programs. We’re looking for mentors, motivators, and movement-makers—people who know how to make education fun while keeping kids safe, seen, and supported.
About the Role
As a Group Leader, you’ll:
- Supervise and engage a group of students in daily activities
- Lead games, enrichment activities, and homework support
- Promote positive behavior using trauma-informed approaches
- Build strong relationships with youth, families, and your team
- Work collaboratively to create a fun, inclusive learning environment
What You Bring
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience working with youth (2,500 hours total)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Ability to pass all PA background checks and health clearances
Must have or be willing and able to obtain the following:
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- DHS FBI Clearance
- PA State Police Criminal History Clearance
- National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) Verification
- Health Assessment w. TB Screening
Bonus Points For:
- After-school, camp, or classroom experience
- Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.)
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to be)
Schedule & Pay
- $18/hour starting pay
- After School (School Year): Monday–Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM (3 hour shift); ~12-6pm on District scheduled early dismissal days (about 1/month)
- Before School (School Year): Monday–Friday, 7:00–9:00 AM
- Part-time hours vary by site and season
- This is a grant-funded position subject to funding availability
