Sunrise of Philadelphia is seeking energetic, dependable, and caring Activity Instructors to join our new Upper Darby Afterschool Program. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary-aged students while helping create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive after school.
As an Activity Instructor, you'll lead a consistent group of students through hands-on enrichment activities, homework support, recreation, STEM projects, arts and crafts, and social-emotional learning. Every afternoon, you'll also help safely escort students from a nearby elementary school to the program site as part of our daily walking group.
What You'll Do
- Lead engaging afterschool enrichment activities
- Build positive relationships with elementary-aged youth
- Support homework completion and academic success
- Encourage teamwork, leadership, and positive behavior
- Maintain active supervision throughout the program
- Safely escort students on a daily walk from school to the program site
- Communicate professionally with families and coworkers
- Help create a fun, inclusive, and welcoming environment

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working with children preferred
- Must successfully complete required background clearances
- Ability to walk approximately one-half mile each program day while supervising students
