About Us
SOAR Intermediate Micro School is a specialized learning environment designed for middle school students with learning differences. This program is an extension of our highly successful SOAR K–5 Micro School, now in its third year.
Our schools are built on the proven methods of the Reading Lab and Dyslexia Center (RLDC), which has over 15 years of experience and has helped hundreds of students learn to read and thrive academically.
We focus on small-group, high-impact instruction in a calm, supportive setting.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, dependable educator to lead a small class of approximately six students in a structured, low-stress environment.
This is a Monday - Thursday, 10 am to 2 pm teaching role with a strong emphasis on foundational skills rather than a full traditional curriculum.
Curriculum includes:
- Reading - OGOA Intermediate
- Writing - Writing Adventure
- Math - Perceptions
You will be supported by an assistant teacher, allowing you to focus on instruction and student growth.

Additional Opportunity (Optional)
There is an optional opportunity to expand hours and income by working as a tutor with the Reading Lab and Dyslexia Center (RLDC) outside of the SOAR Intermediate schedule.

General Requirements and Responsibilities:
- A passion for education and literacy
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent experience
- Experience working with students with learning differences (preferred)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Positive, patient, and flexible mindset
- Create lesson plans, monitor and record student progress data
- Develop a trusting relationship with students, parents, and peers
- Completion of Structured Literacy coursework or willingness to complete OG coursework
- Complete required criminal background check, child abuse registry check, and FBI fingerprinting (cost covered by SOAR)
- Be eligible to work in the United States
