Job Summary and Qualifications

Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective to the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.

Provides film/cd/digital media record keeping and telephone services for the Medical Imaging Department as well as receiving and placing phone calls for all physicians. Possess skills necessary to efficiently and politely communicate with referring physicians and their offices as well as all nursing units.

Is responsible for answering questions, directing calls to appropriate areas and maintaining accurate patient records and sending results to patient care areas. This requires knowledge of medical terminology to accurately read and communicate these findings verbally and via computer. Be able to assist radiologists and attending physicians with finding reports and or films as necessary.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
• One year clerical experience such as typing or data entry.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Experience in alpha and numeric filing.
