Position Summary:

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing outpatient medication management services for individuals with behavioral health needs. The PMHNP will be primarily responsible for psychiatric evaluations, medication prescribing, ongoing medication monitoring, and coordinating care in collaboration with other members of the SCA team for a diverse population.

This position is expected to be on-site one day per week at our Durham, NC office location. We offer flexible pay options tailored to your employment status and scheduling preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe and manage medication treatment plans per established protocols and clinical guidelines.
  • Monitor medication efficacy and side effects, adjusting treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records and clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.

· Collaborate with therapists, case managers, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.

· Provide crisis intervention and emergency mental health services when necessary.

Qualifications:

· Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

· Active and unrestricted RN and NP license in North Carolina.

· Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).

· Active DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration.

· Experience with mental health assessment, triage, managing psychiatric medication and treatment plans, and managing crisis situations.

· Experience providing patient education, specifically regarding medication treatment adherence and aftercare services.

· Experience working with patients in different age groups.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical decision-making skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
