Job Overview
Join our dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant / Dental Assistant. In this role, you will assist the dentist during a variety of procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
- Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, adhering to strict safety protocols and radiation guidelines.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Provide chairside assistance with aseptic techniques, dental terminology, and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Support the dental receptionist by updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently.
- Demonstrate expertise in dental terminology and medical coding to accurately document procedures and facilitate billing processes.
Skills
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Experience with medical documentation, medical coding, and managing medical records within a dental setting.
- Skilled in X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology for accurate diagnostics.
- Knowledgeable in infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA standards.
- Familiarity with dental terminology across general dentistry, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental assisting roles.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessments and assist with medical imaging procedures confidently.
Pay is negotiable based on experience.
