Sunridge Nurseries is seeking reliable, detail-oriented Lab Technicians to support sample preparation activities within our laboratory operations. This temporary position is responsible for preparing grapevine cane samples for nucleic acid extraction workflows by following established laboratory procedures and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be dependable, able to follow detailed instructions, and committed to maintaining accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare grapevine cane samples by shaving, cutting, and processing plant material according to established procedures.
- Label, organize, and track samples to maintain sample integrity throughout the preparation process.
- Follow standardized protocols for preparing samples for nucleic acid extraction and laboratory analysis.
- Accurately document sample preparation activities and maintain required records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-free work environment.
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures, policies, and quality control standards.
- Identify and communicate any issues, discrepancies, or deviations from established procedures to supervisors.
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.
