What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Specialist position at Sunridge Assisted Living?
Overall Responsibilities:
The transportation specialist is to schedule and provide local transportation on a scheduled basis for residents of the community. When not transporting, will complete scheduled tasks as outlined by Administrator.
Job Responsibilities:
- Scheduling appointments.
- Driving residents to and from appointments and providing needed assistance to and from vehicle and buildings.
- Running errands for community staff as approved by supervisor.
- Responsible to keep inside and outside of vehicles clean at all times.
- Responsible to maintaining and checking vehicle fluid levels.
- Record and complete daily, weekly and monthly tasks for Administrator
- Maintain a good working relationship with all customers; including residents, family members, community, and vendors.
- Will not participate in gossip of any kind.
- Will conduct self professionally.
- Meet or exceed, the standards of appearance; comply with the sanitation rules, hygiene and health standards of community personnel
- And all other duties required by Administration.
Job Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Must be in good health and properly immunized against infectious diseases, including measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and diphtheria.
- Must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire.
- Must be positive and encouraging and have the ability to motivate residents to participate in activities.
- Have the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associates.
- Willingness to work with the elderly
- Must be positive and deliver a WOW experience through service
- Performs unpleasant tasks with grace; works cooperatively with supervisors and displays willingness to assist co-workers
Universal Precautions:
Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely.
Physical Requirements:
Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting of (up to 40 lbs.).
