The Assisted Living Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents. This role ensures that resident apartments, common areas, and facility spaces are clean, sanitized, and welcoming. The Housekeeper supports the overall well-being, dignity, and satisfaction of residents by providing high-quality housekeeping services with professionalism and compassion.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesClean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and community areas
Perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and sanitizing surfaces
Change bed linens and make beds according to facility standards
Collect and launder resident clothing and facility linens as assigned
Properly handle, store, and label cleaning chemicals
Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
Report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or unusual resident concerns immediately
Maintain housekeeping equipment in clean and safe operating condition
Respect resident privacy and personal belongings
Provide friendly, courteous service to residents, families, and staff
Assist with deep cleaning projects or special tasks as needed
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)
Previous housekeeping experience preferred; experience in healthcare or senior living is preferred
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good time-management and organization skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compassionate attitude toward working with older adults
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and climb short ladders
