Sunridge Assisted Living of Layton is in search of a motivated, hardworking, dependable individual to join our team as our new cook!
Responsible for serving, preparing and cooking meals according to the dietitian approved menus. Provides care and cooks in a manner that meets or exceeds expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve meals in a fine and gracious manner, ensuring the dignity and nutritional needs of the residents
- Cooks meal according to the dietitian approved menus
- Maintain the dignity and privacy of all residents. Protect all resident rights.
- Assist residents with personal needs as requested, while helping to maintain the resident’s independence and well-being.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
- Meet or exceed, the standards of appearance; comply with the sanitation rules, hygiene and health standards of community personnel
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Job Qualifications
- Able to cook short order breakfast items
- Have knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Know how to follow a recipe
- Be able to handle stressful situations well
- Be flexible and accommodating with hours and residents
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, coworkers, families, and residents
- Good time management
- Possess a love for the elderly and have a kind and compassionate attitude
- Must possess a current Food Handler’s Permit
- Have the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associates.
Background check, and TB test are required by employer upon hire.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
