We are seeking a dedicated, energetic Certified Athletic Trainer to join our athletic department. In this role, you will be a vital part of our student-athlete support system, ensuring a safe, healthy, and competitive environment for our teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Injury Prevention & Assessment: Evaluate injuries, administer first aid, and determine immediate medical needs during practices and sporting events.
- Rehabilitation & Conditioning: Develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation and reconditioning programs for injured athletes to safely return to play.
- Event Coverage: Provide on-site athletic training coverage for home and away athletic events, which requires flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.
- Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date injury records and treatment logs.
- Compliance & Paperwork: Oversee the collection and clearance of required pre-participation physicals and state athletic association (e.g., UIL) participation forms.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with coaching staff, parents, and school administration regarding athlete health and participation status.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Certification: Board of Certification (BOC) credentialed as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
- Licensure: Eligible for or currently holding a valid state Athletic Trainer License (as required by your state).
- Experience: Previous experience in a high school or collegiate athletic training setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, emergency response skills, and a passion for working with adolescent student-athletes
