JOB TITLE: Yard Worker – Hardware Store - Part Time
JOB LOCATION: Springville, UT
REPORTING TO: Retail Supervisor
FUNCTION: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in locating products and help customers solve home improvement issues with the right product and solutions.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Provide high-quality customer service, demonstrating concern and patience in all customer interactions.
- Assist in unloading delivery vehicles and operating basic pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Assist in loading products in customer’s vehicles.
- Assemble products sold in the store: wheelbarrows, grills, etc.
- Maintain a positive, motivated attitude in the workplace.
- Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions as needed.
- Perform inventory counts and maintain price tags as needed.
- Stock and replenish displays and shelves.
- Loading and unloading rental equipment.
- Process payments for rental customers.
- Maintain a clean and professional working environment.
- Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Maintain product knowledge on items carried in the store.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Basic computer navigation skills.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
- Provide regular and predictable attendance.
- Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Prior retail experience a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical Work - Medium: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force regularly.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.
- Repetitive motion associated with operating retail equipment.
- Frequent bending, standing for extended periods, and lifting required.
- Ability to communicate with customers and team members verbally.
