Sunnyside Physical and Sports Therapy is a locally owned outpatient physical therapy clinic dedicated to helping patients improve their mobility, function, and quality of life. We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and friendly Physical Therapy Aide/Technician to join our team.
This position plays an important role in supporting our therapists, assisting patients, maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, and helping ensure an excellent patient experience.
Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Aide/Technician assists physical therapists and administrative staff with patient care activities, clinic operations, cleaning, laundry, and general facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable performing a variety of duties in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Support
- Assist patients with exercises and therapeutic activities as directed by licensed physical therapists.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment before patient appointments.
- Escort patients to treatment areas and provide assistance as needed.
- Monitor patients during exercises and promptly report concerns to therapists.
- Maintain a positive, welcoming, and professional environment for patients and visitors.
Communication and Translation
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff in both English and Spanish.
- Assist with interpretation and translation for Spanish-speaking patients when needed.
- Help ensure patients understand instructions, appointments, and clinic procedures.
Clinic Cleaning and Organization
- Clean and disinfect treatment tables, equipment, and high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, gym space, waiting room, and staff areas.
- Restock clinic supplies and notify supervisors when inventory is low.
- Follow all clinic safety and infection-control procedures.
Laundry and Facility Support
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize clinic linens and towels.
- Maintain adequate linen supplies for daily clinic operations.
- Assist with general housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and professional facility.
- Support therapists and office staff with additional clinic duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move equipment throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Preferred
- Previous healthcare, fitness, athletic training, customer service, or physical therapy experience.
- Interest in physical therapy, healthcare, sports medicine, nursing, athletic training, or related fields.
